WhyTry Implementation Webinar - Shared screen with speaker view
It works well
What have been your greatest challenges implementing WhyTry?
Starting the implementation. Not sure how to start.
Challenge -- It seems too abstract for my lower grade levels.
At the time of the training I had a very limited schedule in my school and could not use the program one on one or small group like I wanted. Now I can, but need refreshed.
What would you like help with?
Honestly...getting started with the curriculum.
I have such a short time frame (30 minutes) that picking and choosing content is crucial.
How to start and implement using WhyTry with one on one sessions versus group sessions.
What success have you had so far with WhyTry?
I have used some of the visuals/illustrations with middle school kids in one on one sessions. i think the visuals have a strong impact and are easy for most kids to remember.
Students do tend to remember the lessons.
I agree. I've found the roller coaster metaphor is powerful.
Walk through PLEASE
Walk through or examples of how to get started would be great. Maybe what a one on one session would look like and a Group session would look like.
Yes Simone, logging your questions thank you!
Can we do Why Try once a month or twice a month instead of following the suggested schedule?
Under IMPLEMENTATION, how much time is required each day?
How you stay to the fidelitity when working with youths that only are in the program for 6-12 weeks?
Does this webinar will be the same one on Feb. 18th?
I would love to attach my lesson plan resources to the PowerPoint, but that is difficult for me -- any tips?
Karen, yes they are on the website
We could setup a Friday individualized webinar. We’d need to settle on a time. Both Jason and I are training on Fridays, but I am available Friday afternoon Central Time-I could do it via my hotel if you’d like to do it this Friday. If this Friday doesn’t work we can schedule for a future Friday
yes I am. thank you. writing the activity down
I've understood street resilience as being judged for things we can't change and that's the current lesson i'm on and i'm having the kids do a research project on civil rights heros haha
firedrill got to go
